Polar
bears can grow to 3 metres (10 ft) in length and weigh up to 770
kilograms (1700 lbs). In the summer and autumn months, food is scarce
so as soon as the ice pack begins to form, the bears head North
to the icy waters of Hudson Bay where they gorge on seal; eating
up to 70 kilograms (150 lbs) in one sitting.
